Elder Royal Email - Another week here at the MTC...

We received a letter and an email from David yesterday, about five days before he departs the Provo MTC for the Lima, Peru MTC.  From what he writes, I am not supposed to send him so many emails.  I usually just write something on www.dearelder.com - which is easy.  I'm not sure whether that will work at the Lima MTC or otherwise in Peru, but for the past couple weeks it has been nice.  My thanks to Dutch and Cory, who came over to the house yesterday to pick up a letter from David and noticed that my truck needed some cleaning (I get to it about once a year).  They detailed it while I was out of town and it looks great.  Still waiting for some pictures from David.  We will pass them along as they arrive.

    Alright family.

Well, it's been another week here at the MTC and it feels like yesterday that I was emailing you last. A saying around here is that at the MTC that the days go by like weeks and the weeks go by like days. Pretty true. Sooooo..... about emailing me. For now it'd probably be easier not to email me too much, but I bet that will change once I get to Peru. I just do not have much time on the computer. So, just don't send a ton of stuff that I won't read. Example, I got on a few minutes ago and had 18 messages in my inbox. (Yeah, right Dad.) Ain't no way - unless you are okay with me just reading without writing. I figure you wouldn't be cool with that, so minimal email for now I'd say. But, again, that might change once I get to Peru. We'll see.

I continue to have a lot of fun here at the MTC. Really, it's a blast. It's busy...and we are constantly in class...learning Spanish, doctrine, all that fun stuff, but its amazing! I'm not sure how we manage to have fun and laugh with all the work we do, but it happens. I guess in this type of situation that even small things become really funny... I dunno. There are two other elders in my district that I am with most of the time. We go to the referral center just about everyday and talk to people that call in. It's a blast.

Alright what else...the "Dear Elder" letters are working good...so yes Mom, I have received addresses more than once...but it's all good. And I've received a few packages...from Mom and Whitney...and one today from Brother Crampton! What a cool guy. I'm gonna miss getting mail everyday when I'm in Peru...but...I'll get used to it. Elder Campbell and I are leaving for Peru Wednesday afternoon. Not really sure the times. But we have a three hour layover in Atlanta. (Cool.) And then we'll have a six hour flight to Peru...and we get there around 6 am, I think. So, that's cool, and I am hoping to be fluent in Spanish by then (although that's not working out so good, but I think when we get there and they give us native comps on the spot...so the Spanish should come along better in the Lima MTC. I see a rough first week coming up...all part of the missionary challenge. But I'm ready. It will be fun talking to you next week!

Okay, I have about 10 minutes left on the computer before it boots me...trying to think of what else is going on. Oh, Mom and Dad, when I previously wrote my testimony in Spanish it was good. You must have used some bogus computer translator, 'cause your English interpretation was...ridiculous. But I won't blame you for making me somewhat self conscious now...dang. ;) And ... sorry to continue to make you send out letters for me...but I may have one or two to give you...for Jack probably... who should read this. Here goes: Hi Jack. What's up? Oh really? That's cool. Me too. So we'll see about that. Man, time goes by fast on this computer...watching those bright red numbers blink...just waiting to kick me off and laugh at me...oh and Brad, I'm really disappointed that I haven't received a letter from you yet. Whitney, you have been awesome, sending letters and stuff left and right. But I did like the little comic you made for me, Brad. It made me laugh - very hard. Oh and Cody. Hmmm, disappointed in you, too. (Oh ye of little writing.) But what can I say? I was never good at writing friends or anyone. It's all karma, coming back to me. Alright, four minutes left. Umm ... I'll be sending you guys a tape and some pictures, which will probably be retarded but that's okay. I'm not the best picture taker or tape recorder guy. Okay, this email is long enough, so thank you so much for all of your love and support. The Church is true and I love it. I can't wait to teach the people of Peru and share the gospel joy with them.

    Love,

    Elder Royal

P.S. Please send a hacky sack and a wallet sized picture of the fam, if possible, or one to keep in my scripture case.
