Hello Piura - Nice to See You Again (Ever So Briefly)

Hey Hey Hey,

Well, to be honest this was kind of a rough week - not to say it was bad, but we ended up having to do a lot of outside work and weren’t able to get as much done in our area and it was frustrating. We have three missionaries in our zone that are sick right now so that took up a lot of time last week, and then with stake business and stuff for the two stakes that we are in charge of, we lost a lot of proselyting time in our area. Kinda sad, but that’s life sometimes, so hopefully it will improve this week. There are only two weeks left in this change and it is very likely that Elder Hanke and I will not be together for another change. Time is going by quick. Really every cambio seems to go by faster than the last.

Quick funny story. All the missionaries give us letters and stuff that they wanna send home and to friends and what not, and we send them to the office to get mailed out. We noticed that one of the elders had two letters for an former sister missionary that went home about two months ago. So, we highlighted her name and sprayed the letters with cologne. Ha. It was pretty much hilarious.

We put on a cool stake activity on Saturday that we had been planning for the last couple weeks - black light volleyball. Besides finally starting everything about an hour late (that’s just typical here) it turned out pretty well. We had an alright turnout of about 50 people or so - which I guess is probably not all that good considering that the activity was on a stake level. But it was cool. We played in age groups and played quick games to seven points. Everyone seemed to like it. At the end with just a few people from my ward that hung around I couldn’t help but play a bit and wow my body is in extreme need of physical activity. I think I jumped twice and was nearly spent.

So things are going alright here. We have been trying to help our zone improve. We had a good zone meeting last week with everyone based on the Atonement asking the question, "What are we willing to do for the Savior?" It was a self evaluation of our work here, trying to weed out the laziness and increase our focus. It went well, so now hopefully results will follow. We have had more problems here in La Victoria Than I ever had in Piura Central - makes life . . . interesting, I guess. Never a dull moment.

All of the zone leaders are in Piura today until tomorrow afternoon. We got to play soccer together today and that was pretty cool. We have zone counsel with the president tomorrow which is always great. So it should be interesting, memorable. I am hoping there will be something new that we will be able to take back to our zone to help make it better. I talked with Elder Meza tonight as well, who was my last comp in Los Ficus, who told me that two of our investigators that we were teaching together have been baptized! That is just so awesome. There is one more that we found together that is coming along really well also (the one that got all the young singles more interested in helping the missionary work). So she may be getting baptized soon as well. That is great. I am hoping that Elder Hanke and I will be able to baptize someone before the end of the transfer or at least find a few people that can progress better and get baptized in the next couple months. Things are going well. Hope everyone is doing great there and, that you are all having fun, reading scriptures, and trying to progress spiritually. The Church is true.
