Hey hey hey
Alright, I wanna make sure I take care of this first so I don’t forget – HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLI! Are you 23 now? I think that’s right. That’s pretty weird. Wow, that just shows how fast time is going. Second note on how fast time is going – I hit my 19 months mark as a missionary tomorrow. Wow. So that is pretty nuts. Last note, that has nothing to do with time...but family, please stop trying to trunk me out with music (i.e. Karley posting a picture of her Muse concert ticket and Dad sending it to me). Why are you tormenting me? Ok, that’s it. Onto this week.
Things are going pretty well in La Victoria. Elder Hanke is awesome and we are having fun. Our zone is doing good and we had five baptisms yesterday, four of them being a family, so that was exciting. Elder Hanke and I were reviewing the numbers yesterday and realized that we need to do better in our own area. We are doing fine, but we ought to be setting a better standard. It’s humbling to see the rest of the missionaries doing so well that it pushes us, as their leaders, to be better. We had a few investigators come to church yesterday, mostly because there was no mud and rain this week, so people were able to show up. So, we have some people coming along. I noticed this week that a majority of our investigators are teenage girls...which is kinda weird to be honest but I guess that’s what happens when the young women’s president gives most of the referrals. Anyway, the area is cool and we are doing well. We may be having a baptism this week. I am also teaching English classes again, got suckered into it, again. ;) But it’s easier now a year later knowing more Spanish. But if anyone can give me ideas on how to teach and any kind of games we could do, that would be cool.
We have zone conference this week, which is awesome. It will be the first one since mid November. We didn’t have one in the last change, so it has been a long time. President asked our zone to do a special musical number. We started practicing yesterday. We are going to sing, "There is a Green Hill Far Away." I really like that song. So we have been trying to make a cool arrangement to sing, and it’s coming along. It’s always really, really, really interesting trying to do a special musical number or choir here with a large group of people. I think it will turn out good, though. So wish us luck on that on.
I am pretty much out of time. Sorry my letter is shorter than usual, but that’s ok, because maybe my letters are too long sometimes. In summary, things are going really well here. I am enjoying myself as a missionary and trying to make every minute count. As I approach 19 months, I have been thinking about how I will feel when I hit 24 months and it is all behind me. And it kinda scared me to think: "what if I didn’t do all I could have done?" So I am trying to really stay focused and work hard ‘til the end. So, no one send me any more stuff about Muse. I love this work. The Church is true. Have an awesome week. And I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day (or as my old guitar teacher Mr. Lance always said "Happy Singles Awareness Day." I bet he still uses that same joke. Good guy.) Nice Valentine’s Dance pictures, thanks. (Loved Bro. Little’s pimp hat.) And no, Mom, haven’t received the second package yet, but I’m sure I’ll see it soon. Hey, is Dan Lee home from his mission??? Does he get home this week? Please ask him to write me. Thanks for all the love and prayers you give me. Have a great, wonderful, awesome week everyone!
